About Our Client

Our client, based in the Doncaster area, are a forward thinking Manufacturing organisation. Following an exciting period of growth and investment this role will be a new addition to the team to strengthen supply chain as a whole and focus on commodity management and team development.

Job Description

The responsibilities of this Commodity Manager are:

  • To successfully deliver strategic purchasing projects which mitigates risk and ensures value is delivered to the company through the supply chain.
  • To be responsible for the cost effective sourcing of materials and services; which meets the business requirements of specification, quality, delivery and service.
  • To ensure the business meets it's moral, environmental and legal obligations particularly re sustainability and responsible sourcing.
  • The Commodity Manager will either take the lead or will be involved in various collaborative Purchasing initiatives with the Group, either at national or international level.
  • Managing / mentoring one member of the team.

The Successful Applicant

Ideally the successful candidate for this position will have:

  • Educated to degree level and has/is working towards CIPS.

  • Has worked in a strategic procurement role.

  • Good knowledge of the legal aspects of purchasing with the ability to formulate purchasing contracts and service level agreements.

  • A good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Access.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong relationship management skills.

  • Proven people manager.

  • UK and Overseas travel will be required occasionally.

What's on Offer
