Our client has been creating luxury beds for over 100 years and their products can be found in many sumptuous hotels around the world as well as clubs and yachts. Their beds are hand-crafted in the UK and made with natural and high quality materials.

Job Description

The Communications Manager will be reporting into the Marketing Director and responsibilities will include:

  • Defining a comprehensive communication strategy, in line with the overall marketing and overall company strategy;
  • Implementing this strategy adequately in the various elements of the communication mix (print advertising, advertorials, on-line, PR, event marketing) and assign the budget accordingly;
  • Acting internally and externally as a brand ambassador;
  • Protecting its brand attributes, its brand identity, its key visuals and adapting it over time to keep it relevant, desirable and up to date;
  • Ensuring that the company communicates consistently across the globe and in the different media (advertising, on-line, POS) both directly and through partners;
  • Planning and executing the appropriate media strategy and verifying post campaign effectiveness;
  • Drafting and executing a digital strategy (web, digital campaign, social media);
  • Managing communication with retailers (specialised press, "look & feel" of the trade fairs);
  • Writing the brief, appointing and dealing with various agencies (advertising, PR, design);
  • Producing all brand and product imagery and copy used by the company and its partners;
  • Setting necessary guidelines for the Regional Marketing Managers to implement easily;
  • Designing and implementing other consumer marketing actions such as targeted event or mailings;
  • Conducting regular brand reviews to benchmark the company's communication against its major competitors (positioning, execution, share of voice etc.) and initiating corrective actions;
  • Managing the communication budget, centrally and in the countries.

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this position, the Communications Manager should:

  • have relevant experience in communication (company or agency);
  • have a proven experience in digital media;
  • strong creative and communications skills;
  • be used to managing a budget and be result oriented;
  • have the ability to work in a small organisation, be hands-on and a good team player.

What's on Offer

This position is based in South West London and will involve extensive trips to clients and fairs in the UK and overseas (around 50%).

Salary is £40,000 to £48,000.
