Job Description

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Construction Director is expected to make significant contribution to ensure the successful completion of each prime residential developments in London.

You will report to the CEO and work closely with the Development Team, Design, Sales and Marketing. You will be responsible for efficiently helping to plan, organise and support the development and construction process of prime residential sites in London and you will use your working knowledge of the construction process and will be able to demonstrate a proven experience of leading site delivery teams in the construction industry within a prime residential development to generate demonstrable results.

Main duties:

  • Develop and maintain a wide variety of effective working relationships and external contacts;
  • Successfully manage internal and external teams including construction consultants, external architects and contractors through attending client meetings, project meetings both internal and on site and dealing with associated tasks and issues;
  • Project managing multiple aspects of construction delivery and working with clients and key stakeholders to further strengthen the company's current position as a market leader;
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement, value for money, effective project management and delivery to help drive the business for significant growth;
  • Setting high standards in setting mile stones, project monitoring, risk management, issues log and reporting;
  • In depth knowledge of compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures particularly within the construction phase.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal candidate:

  • Degree level or above, MCIOB and membership of RICS essential;
  • Successful track record in project managing the construction phase of high profile Residential developments in London;
  • 8-10 year's experience in prime residential and mixed residential sector essential with at least 7 years working on the construction phase of prime residential;
  • Strong knowledge of construction process, building code, and safety codes with excellent knowledge and experience of value engineering;
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern construction techniques and methodologies;
  • Comprehensive understanding of project management principles and risk analysis skills;
  • Effective negotiation, decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Able to successfully lead internal and external teams successfully;
  • Proficient in reading drawings, specifications and knowledge of construction process;
  • Proven risk assessment, monitoring and control skills with an understanding of delivering projects of scale within agreed programmes;

Ability to deal with stressful situations; work calmly and maturely when under pressure.
