Job Description

Providing influential insight and proactive advice is key to ensuring high quality legal support is provided to the business on a range of stakeholder needs. You will ensure that legal developments, regulatory, statutory or otherwise are identified and are being addressed as appropriate to the role while working closely with other areas of the business (including policy, risk, compliance, audit and media functions) with respect to the governance and control framework and management of legal risk.



You will support colleagues in the Group Regulatory Legal team and across the wider Group Litigation, Regulatory and Competition function in delivering the accountabilities of their roles and will develop relationships and effective collaboration with colleagues in other relevant Legal roles to maximise quality and consistency of support to the relevant business units.

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in the role, you will hold expert technical knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the financial services regulatory framework, particularly contentious enforcement processes. Strong commercial acumen is key, as is a good understanding of the banking / financial services sector



You will hold a current UK legal practising certificate or equivalent common law jurisdiction qualification and have significant post-qualification experience in the banking/financial services sector. Experience of contentious regulatory issues/investigations and advising on FCA regulatory matters.
