Our client is a leading provider of specialist demolition services, are a growing business with a large pipeline of projects moving forward

Job Description

The main responsibilities of the Contracts Manager will be:

- Manage the prequalification documents, devise the working method /programme, review and assist in bids, and manage the administration for specialist and or complex projects

- Undertake desktop studies/analyses and assist the Directors, as required in all business development activities especially relating to technically complex contracts

- Liaise with in house Quality Assurance, Environmental, Asbestos, Health and Safety Managers, Project and Site managers to ensure that the needs of the specialist activities of complex projects is understood, and incorporated into the relevant policies and procedures and integrated management system.

- Attend contract/sites to review progress on behalf of the Directors, to advise on progress and problem solve as required to assist the team to deliver the contract according to schedule and budget providing specialist technical input as required.

- Liaise with clients and in house estimating team to prepare and deliver Prequalification Questionnaires to strict standards of quality and time in accordance with Company objectives, as set by the Directors.

- Attend to the Health & Safety and Welfare of staff, within your contract ensuring responsibilities are clearly understood, legislative requirements are adhered to and a proactive approach is adopted to Health and Safety issues at all times.

- Maintain constructive employee relations with staff undertaking work for you from other teams.

- Maintain professional competence by complying, at all times, with the training and competence procedures set down by the Company. Generally keep abreast of developments affecting your duties and responsibilities.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Five to ten years of broad technical experience across either main construction, or civil engineering, for a contractor or subcontractor

- Experience of projects ranging from £100k to £8m

- Attentive to details, systems oriented, accurate, must have good communication skills, and must be able to work alone and with people. They must be liaise effectively with teams of people who are not directly under his/ her control to deliver multiple projects and demands on their time.

- Organizational and creative problem solving skills are a must, as is competency in CAD, and programme of work/project management tools.
