The role as Contract Officer will involve:
Working closely with the Contracts Manager to prepare and maintain a 30 year cost model for stock investment (including rolling 5 year programmes of investment), regularly providing forecasts on costs. You will also support them with carrying out a yearly appraisal of the Group's property assets, including site specific options appraisals for those assets that are under-performing and/or are no longer of strategic importance to the Group.
Effectively commission and deliver the Group's asset management and planned maintenance contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, value for money and a strong customer focus with a view to continually improving these elements.
Successfully manage all contractors to drive up performance and to ensure that colleagues and customers are getting the best service possible.
Ensure the effective management of contracts and budgets, providing accurate and up to date information on cash-flow and forecasts.
Lead and report back on regular contractor performance meetings, ensuring any follow-up work is actioned both timely and to satisfaction.
The Successful Applicant
As the Contracts Officer of the Planned Investment programmes you will possess the following skill set:
A wide range of experience of specifying, tendering and managing to successful completion asset management contracts in a social housing or surveying environment.
Leading and delivering large and complex major works projects.
Budget development and management of costs to target.
Undertaking property condition surveys, analysing survey data and preparing reports on findings.
Good knowledge of building construction and a broad understanding of asset management services.
