Job Description

My client requires a Conveyancing Fee Earner or Legal Executive to join their London-based Finance and Disputes team, as part of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution group, which incorporates the Possession Sales team.

This will initially be offered on a 6 month fixed term contract basis, with a possibility of further extension.

Your key duties will be:

* to run a caseload of repossession sales files across different lenders, to include inputting information into a CM system and changing status code where necessary
* taking responsibility for files from opening, to closure including dealing with exchanges, completions, service of Notice to Complete, surplus funds and post completion enquiries
* liaising with clients, buyers, solicitors, third party provides etc.
* dealing with enquiries and deducing title to the buyer's solicitors
* dealing with all incoming correspondence
* ensuring exchange deadlines are adhered to and update clients with any reasons for the delay
* to understand the transactional process of a shared ownership repossession sale, including knowledge of Mortgage Protection Clauses
* ensuring Service Level Agreements are adhered to and preparing MI reports
* ensuring clients are kept up to date and fully appraised of any issues throughout the transaction
* completing secondary checks on audit files
* assisting the Real Estate Group with the completion of SDLT1 forms
* other ad-hoc work/assistance, as and where required

The Successful Applicant

Skills and experience you will have:

* a minimum of 2 years conveyancing experience; to include familiarity with bridging lending, second charges and equity release matters
* experience of dealing with repossession matters (sale by mortgagee/receiver/trustee in bankruptcy)
* knowledge of right to buy and shared ownership
* strong IT skills with fast, accurate typing ability and full knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
