Job Description

Reporting to the Programme Leader, the New Core Change Lead will be responsible for leading the business change workstream, managing the operational activities associated with the user-engagement agenda, developing an appropriate communications strategy for the workstream and implementing and delivering Lean/6 Sigma methodologies, practices and training activities across all phases of the New Core Programme.

This will require close working with the Programme Leader and Programme Manager, the workstream leads for HR and Payroll, Finance, IT and Business Intelligence as well as with academic and professional services colleagues from across the University to shape the change agenda of the initiative, ensuring it delivers against the strategic priorities of the University.

The Core Change Lead will be the key contact for all business change associated with the New Core agenda.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Working closely with the workstream Leads to understand the direction and impact of their work across all phases of the Programme and translating these into operational change management activities.
  • Utilising negotiation and communication skills to engage with the user-communities to gain their agreement, commitment and cooperation across a broad and complex range of change initiatives.
  • Working closely with the Programme Team to develop a comprehensive benefits realisation plan to provide a mechanism for engaging with users, to help in defining training plans and inform on-going monitoring and reviews of activity.
  • Implementing process improvement methodologies in support of change initiatives, including change processes such as requirements gathering workshops, solution design workshops, business and change readiness assessments as well as tools such as diagnostic exercises, process mapping and rapid improvement events.
  • Developing, maintaining, updating and executing individual business change communications and training plans for each workstream, working closely with the Programme Team and in particular the Programme Manager, to ensure that they are aligned with each change milestone.
  • Working with the Training Manager to oversee the design of the training modules.
  • Working extensively with end-users to ensure that change is appropriately recognised and implemented.
  • Identifying change-related risks, issues and dependencies associated with the business change workstream.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading on major change programmes, ideally within higher education or public sector environments. ERP implementation involvment is essential, as is a university degree. First class communication and influencing skills are required for this key position.

What's on Offer

Basic salary on offer from £50,000 - £65,000 plus benefits package.
