My client is looking for a manager to join their fast-growing Berkshire office to provide direct support to the partners by managing the corporate tax compliance affairs of an existing portfolio of owner-managed business client and an extensive private client base. Tax planning work arises across the group's portfolio.

The High Wycombe office advises businesses ranging from subsidiaries of overseas holding companies and large corporate groups of companies to small family companies. In addition to commercial companies in service/manufacturing industries, they also deal with professional partnerships, landed estates, financial service companies, sports and entertainment businesses, entrepreneurs, and not for profit organisations and charities. The aim is to provide outstanding service in a professional and efficient manner tailored to give the client the benefit of exceptional advice and maximum added value.

Job Description

Whilst the annual corporate tax compliance work is the key focus of this role, tax planning will arise as a matter of course across this diverse portfolio of clients. This will include areas such as group tax planning, property planning, capital allowances, R&D tax credits, s455 tax planning and cross border transactions. Tax accounting will also be an essential part of the role.

The role would also include responsibility for the supervision/review of work undertaken by the tax seniors within the team, including some staff responsibilities and work planning. The individual will in most cases report directly to the client partner or Corporate Director.

Ongoing training will be provided, with the opportunity for the individual to attend the firm's annual tax conference and to attend both internal and external training sessions.

The role provides a good range of work for someone with a solid corporate tax compliance background. Dependent upon the circumstances, there may be opportunities for an individual who is looking to work part time or who requires flexible working hours.

The Successful Applicant

Exposure of running a corporate tax compliance portfolio

Previous exposure of using computerised accounts and tax packages is useful. The firm uses Alphatax.

Applicants should be preferably CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified.
