Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Oversight of the development Retail Lending Policies

Development and management of activities that ensure a 2nd line of defence for retail credit risk is fully operational and consistent with the requirements of the CRCU

Ensure that there are documented procedures to support CRD IV compliance

Development and monitoring of Affordability models that meet MCOB requirements

Design and deliver a 2nd Line of Defence quality assurance programme over lending and collections activities

Provide timely and accurate management information that measures the Group's retail lending exposures in relation to its risk appetite

Deliver a framework that ensures that credit risk data is accurate, and consistent with IRB Data Standards

Provide appropriate input into risk appetite and product pricing decisions

Ensure that regular stress testing and other thematic analysis is forward-looking and responsive to emerging risks and changes in risk profile

Provide the necessary analytical expertise to discussions with external ratings agencies

Maintain awareness of relevant current future regulatory environment and provide or challenge analysis that highlights levels of compliance

Maintain an awareness of the policies and procedures and adhere to them.

Promote and embrace a culture of continuous improvement being open and proactive to improvements and carrying out improvements in line with the corporate methodology.

Demonstrate the values and appropriate behaviours.

The Successful Applicant

Honour degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline

Experience of working in an analytical role within a retail lending (preferably secured lending) environment

Excellent oral and written presentation skills

Knowledge of SAS programming and data manipulation techniques gained through attendance on accredited SAS Training Courses and through practical work based experience. Desirable

Experience of having dealt with ratings agencies queries and presentations in so far as they relate to retail credit risk
