Demand Planner for a Food Business in the Preston Area

Job Description

The role of Demand Planner for an expanding Food Business in the Preston area will oversee the following:

  • Demand planning across the UK and Europe, helping to enable both short-term planning and scheduling and longer-term capacity planning
  • Ability to stake holder manage, specifically across Marketing and Sales to ensure forecasts to maximise efficiency and customer service satisfaction
  • Liaise with internal planning and operational teams to ensure a high-level of awareness is achieved regarding the live forecast and changes being made to that forecast
  • Review historical sales trends and research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results.
  • Manage promotional forecasting including the daily tracking of performance and promotional performance analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning & customer services processes
  • Be a main driver of the company's S&OP agenda

The Successful Applicant

  • Ideally, the candidate for the Demand Planner role will have the following background:

  • relevant planning experience is essential, ideally within a similar role and preferably in the food or FMCG sector
  • Good numeracy and analytical skills are essential
  • strong working knowledge of Excel and ERP systems is essential
  • Experience of S&OP processes is highly desirable
  • Ability to communicate with people at all level
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Willingness to work across weekends as required by the business
