Job Description

Own, develop and maintain engaging online content that is:

  • In-line with members needs
  • Is simple, and easy to understand
  • On brand in look, feel and tone
  • Relevant, correct, engaging and up to date
  • Integrates with offline materials and user journeys
  • Meets agreed deadlines and budgets

Compliant with regulation and audit requirements to mitigate risk of non-compliance

Understand digital user needs

Really know and understand our users and how they interact and want to interact with our websites by knowing:

  • Who our users are
  • How/when they use our sites
  • What are their expectations of their onsite experiences
  • Limitations of knowledge and how and when is appropriate to assist

Define and champion optimal digital experiences

Use your knowledge to instigate, generate, translate and optimise ideas, needs and complex business processes into excellent online user experiences ensuring that:

  • All recommendations are user centric and take account of differing user abilities
  • Cost efficiencies are considered
  • Online and offline journeys are considered when optimising experiences
  • Ideas and recommendations are easy to understand or imagine for different audiences
  • Sub-optimal journeys are identified, challenged and improved
  • Optimal customer journeys are considered and implemented into wider corporate projects
  • Improvements are communicated

Maintain and improve digital knowledge

Ensure that personal digital knowledge is up to date to understand:

  • Digital experience trends and expectations
  • Technologies available
  • Digital competitor activities
  • How to make efficiencies in processes
  • Digital experience needs within the business and be a point of expertise

Maintain effective working relationships

Ensure that effective business relationships are maintained to understand:

  • Processes and issues faced by other departments
  • Limitations or restrictions that could affect recommendations for the digital experience
  • Commercial understanding of our products and propositions
  • Technical understanding and ability to take part in technical conversations
  • Cross channel consistency
  • Specific impacts of change upon other departments
  • Identification of cross over points

The Successful Applicant

  • Web design and structure, online user experience and technologies
  • CBS products, channels, markets
  • Regulatory environments affecting customers, product and channel
  • CBS web development processes and core systems

Ability to use the following systems:

  • Microsoft Office packages (essential)
  • Wireframing software e.g. Balsamic or Axure (preferable)
  • Web analytics packages (preferable)
