Job Description


  • Developing and delivering strategic campaigns to new and existing contacts incorporating industry best practice
  • Ensuring marketing automation campaign strategies align with the business customer engagement goals
  • Developing measurable campaign objectives with scalable, repeatable, campaigns and reporting
  • Managing web copy and content across websites
  • Implementing analytics goals, strategy and best practice across the marketing team

The Successful Applicant

Person Specification


  • Degree in Marketing related subject or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven knowledge of STM/or journal publishing and/or related science industry
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of digital marketing best practice, web analytics and data management.
  • Experience of market research best practice techniques
  • Outstanding analytical skills and experience of using analytics tools
  • Proven track record of developing creative and innovative marketing strategies and successful results-orientated campaigns
  • Good public speaking and presentation skills
  • Highly computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent email marketing and copywriting skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Must be able to work to tight deadlines and react quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong leadership and excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Proven project management skills and experience
  • Practical experience of marketing planning and budgeting
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and have strong negotiation skills


  • Experience in an STM publishing marketing role
  • Knowledge/interest in open access initiatives
  • Web editing skills
  • An interest in science
