Our client are a leading practice both in the UK and Globally who deal with a large number of large corporate and institutional clients as well as some medium sized corporate clients.

Job Description

The Director of Building Surveying will be based out of the office in West Yorkshire and there is flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. You will be responsible for heading up the Building Surveying team and driving the business forward. You will have the freedom to deliver the kind of projects you enjoy on the basis that you will bring a number of clients with you. You will work collaboratively with the rest of the team and will have responsibility for growing the team as you see fit, that will report into you. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Undertaking Building Surveyor's inspections and preparing reports

  • Preparing specifications for and administering repair and refurbishment contracts

  • Preparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidation's/preparing exit strategies

  • Preparing planned preventative maintenance plans

  • Undertaking building reinstatement cost assessments

  • Client facing business delivery & generation.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be either an experienced Director of Building Surveying or at Associate or Associate Director level and ready for their next step up. You will ideally be based in West Yorkshire and have experience in work winning and building and maintaining relationships with large corporate clients. You will be expected to bring clients with you to this role to continue to drive the business forward. We are looking for someone with drive and ambition to join this team. You will also have the following:

  • MRICS (Building Surveying) preferably in a commercial consultancy.
  • Good client facing skills with an ability/potential to generate and deliver business
  • Strong versatile organisational skills, coupled with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven team working skills with the capability to work collaboratively.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience of AutoCAD an advantage, though not essential.
  • Clean driving license.
