Job Description

The Dispute Resolution Associate Lawyer will have a multi-faceted role, with a focus on client arbitration, business development, and a strong team member.

Day to day client facing responsibilities will include:

  • To support and participate in the successful growth of the firm's Dispute Resolution Team
  • To advise and represent clients in connection with a wide range of disputes, particularly in the corporate, banking/funds, trusts, insolvency and public law sectors.
  • Draft simple and complex documents with accuracy and appropriate content;
  • Be assertive and creative when developing or finding solutions to problems and methods of working.
  • Approach issues with commercial sense and provide solutions which are pragmatic;
  • Guide clients on strategy relating to the particular matter they are advising on, meeting client needs or reacting quickly to changing requirements.
  • Prepare case analyses and supporting documentation with cost estimates.

The Successful Applicant

The Dispute Resolution Associate Lawyer will posses 3-6 years post qualified legal experience. Potentially tired of a big city, or just looking for a new adventure, the successful associate will be looking to relocation to the Channel Islands, and more specifically, Guernsey. An island jurisdiction with 20% income tax, Guernsey has a welcoming community, where a solid work/life balance is valued, and a global finance hub in its own right.

The Dispute Resolution Associate Lawyer will also possess -

  • Legal business development experience
  • Proven track record on client management
  • Commercially focused
  • Keen for an offshore move
