About Our Client

Our client are a high performing retail leisure company business that have a vast national portfolio of properties.

Job Description


  • Devise and deliver a successful investment programme, meeting and exceeding agreed targets for time, cost and quality, in line with the agreed investment strategy with clear focus on consumer needs.
  • Support Ops teams in investment planning activities; providing challenge to ensure we are optimising profit opportunities; providing property investment advice to support investment decisions
  • Develop our capacity to deliver investments at better value, more quickly and with improved customer satisfaction through development of PMs, effective processes and supplier/designer relationship management.
  • Develop our ability to apply a strong operational conscience to all investments, through consideration for the consumer and retailer.


  • Ensure that where necessary, that our statutory obligations to ensure compliance standards are met in a cost effective manner, eg: electrical testing, gas, etc
  • Proactive management of repairs, including development of a planned maintenance programme to provide robust budget controls and intelligent prioritisation of repairs. Ensuring that we repair & maintain our assets to keep Falcon pubs trading at their optimum at all times.
  • Lead the implementation of low energy principles across our portfolio through investments & repairs to save money; encourage our operators to adopt same principles delivering cost reduction and environmental benefits for all parties.


  • Strategic management of designers & contractors to ensure they contribute fully to delivering a first class service to our internal and external customers
  • Create a high performance culture with key suppliers that deliver continuous improvements in service, innovation and value added relationships.
  • Ensure that our designers remain mindful of the operational model and the subsequent operational considerations in their designs.


  • Lead and develop skills of the property managers within a region and national lead responsibility for a key focus area/topic.


  • Leadership of elements within the Investment Business Improvement Plan each year; developing and implementing changes to ways of working, supply chain or processes across the whole team.
  • Represent the Investments Team in company cross functional change projects as necessary

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a client side property role in a highly consumer facing industry, such as Retail or Food and Beverages. You will have experience of delivering property investment strategy and a background in project delivery. We are ideally looking for the following as a minimum:

  • Technical experience in a multi retail site property role as building surveyor or project manager
  • Up to date knowledge of statutory compliance legislation
  • Experience of budgetary & financial cost control
  • HNC in either Building Surveying or Building Construction, or professional qualification such as RICS or CIOB
