Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Economist (regulation + policy). You will:

  • Undertake research to inform future pricing methodology development
  • Lead work streams within projects as agreed by the Pricing Strategy Lead into development, piloting and evaluation of different pricing regulatory tools
  • Support drafting of policy for pricing in line with the organisation's responsibilities in this area
  • Support drafting of rules and guidance for the National Tariff Document working with the Tariff Production Team
  • Work with the Sector Involvement team to develop engagement plans for projects
  • Support work on impact assessment to assess impact of proposals on commissioners and providers

The Successful Applicant

You will have:

  • Economics or finance-related degree ( or equivalent)
  • Experience in strategy development
  • Capability to disaggregate complex problems and design supporting analyses
  • Developing quantitative and qualitative research techniques
  • Report writing skills including the crafting of arguments and setting these out clearly
  • Significant experience of using PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain discretion and use initiative
  • Comfortable with both working independently and as part of small multi-disciplinary teams, displaying interpersonal and utilising resources effectively
