About Our Client

My client is a Global manufacturer, with multiple sites across the UK. Due to expansion and growth, the business are now looking for an Electrical Engineer to form an integral part of the engineering team.

Job Description

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for ensuring all appropriate legislative or company standards applicable to the plant are achieved, maintained and continuously updated.
  • Will be accountable for High Voltage maintenance and development activities across the site, this requires the Electrical Engineer to undertake appropriate training and assessment to become High Voltage authorised.
  • Is accountable for ensuring the Engineering Team Leaders and craftsmen have been given clear expectations on daily targets and that these targets are achieved.
  • Will Identify and implement improvements in equipment utilisation, energy usage, product quality and labour efficiencies to achieve daily flex targets.
  • Will lead continuous improvement activity to improve operational efficiencies in order to deliver reductions in waste and cost.
  • Will lead HSE initiatives to actively improve safe systems of work such as accident investigation, incident reporting and risk assessments, ensuring all corrective actions are closed out in a timely manner.
  • Will use Process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing Tools such as SPC, FMEAs, 5S and Lean Sigma structured problem solving techniques to drive improvements.
  • Must drive process control, engineering RFT & standards of work.
  • Will be the single point contact for NADCAP compliance & ensuring all pyrometry is maintained to the required specification.
  • Will innovate, develop, implement and monitor cost effective plant maintenance strategies that achieve business unit targets or better.
  • Will innovate, develop and improve engineering practices to ensure equipment performance monitoring and control is effective
  • Responsible for identifying priorities to ensure engineering resources are utilised on the right tasks
  • Will lead relevant aspects of operational shutdowns for major maintenance and improvement works.

The Successful Applicant

As Electrical Engineer you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • You will be able to demonstrate experience gained within a heavy engineering, materials processing and in a unionised environment
  • You will have working Knowledge of HV Distribution, AC/DC drives, PLC's & SCADA
  • You will have Engineering design capability, preferably using CAD
  • You will be fully conversant with the MS Office suite of software
  • Must have the ability to motivate others & be a strong team player
  • A knowledge of 'Lean' techniques is an advantage
