Job Description

The following additional tasks and responsibilities apply to the officer undertaking the additional role of QES (Qualified Electrical Supervisor), directly reporting to the Principle Duty Holder

  • Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated on a regular basis.
  • Carry out quality checks on electrical work and certificates completed by in-house and contractor electricians, signing off documentation ensuring it is to the required standard.
  • Advise on Electrical Installation Regulations, answering queries as they arise.
  • Act as a point of contact for the NICEIC and ensure any best practice and change in legislation is communicated to the in-house electricians.

The Successful Applicant

  • At least 5 years practical experience and technical understanding of mechanical and/or electrical installations, including a successful track record in working within a construction discipline.
  • A recognised technical qualification and a good working knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Latest Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations
  • Time served apprenticeship with relevant electrical qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or above
  • Approval by the NICEIC as a qualified QES
  • Customer focused approach
  • Able to work in an office based environment
