Our client is an international law firm with offices across the world.

The firm's core practice areas include corporate/commercial, real estate, dispute resolution and infrastructure, construction and energy.

Our client's energy team are particularly active in the renewable energy sector and have acted on solar, wind (on and off-shore), biomass and waste to energy projects.

Job Description

Our client's Infrastructure, Construction and Energy team is a key part of the firm's strategy and this role presents the opportunity to do high quality, energy work in a team designated for further, strategic expansion.

First class legal skills and international growth are very important in this team and the successful candidate can be assured of the opportunity of working with leading practitioners, enhancing their skills and undertaking work with our international offices.

The successful candidate will be expected to advice on the regulation of electricity generation and supply including the impact of the Electricity Market Reform (and in particular the CfD), power purchase agreements, gas supply contracts, energy efficiency initiatives including the Green Deal and the decentralized supply of energy.

Our client has a range of internal clients with demand for regulatory advice and support. In particular, in recent years, our client's Real Estate clients have looked for advice on the on-site generation and supply of energy.

The Successful Applicant

Our client is looking for a UK qualified Energy and Infrastructure lawyer with between 4 and 6 years PQE, gained at a city firm, respected regional practice or In House.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have advised on renewable energy transactions or projects and have a good knowledge of the various subsidiaries for renewable energy in the UK and Europe. In addition, candidates should:
- Come from a Regulatory or Projects background
- Have diverse experience to include renewal energy (wind/solar/biomass/tidal) and some non-renewable generation
- Have strong technical knowledge of UK energy regulation and best practice.
