Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Operations you will be working in close liaison with the Maintenance Supervisor, to oversee works and drive the performance of contractors and the in-house team to ensure that works are completed on time, within budget and to the required specification and quality standards

You will be expected to take on a range of engineering and building services projects, from managing a tender process, to planning a schedule of conservation work. With a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance, you'll negotiate with, and meet the needs of, multiple stakeholders. The delivery of these daily challenges will be vital to the continued running of our historic buildings. You will also be expected to take a long-term view when looking at new projects, modernising their systems and finding new ways to achieve great efficiencies.

The Successful Applicant

With broad M&E experience, and a proven ability to deliver a varied portfolio of work, you will need to know how to manage a maintenance schedule, lead projects and consider statutory compliance and risk, whilst being aware of cost control and contract management. Highly organised, you'll be confident managing a number of different projects, across the estate and with multiple deadlines. An electrical bias would be preferred although again not essential.

Experience of managing and maintaining historic buildings would also prove an asset, but again it's not essential. You must be computer literate and with strong administrative skills, and be able to use Microsoft tools and CAD software to deliver your varied workload. Due to the nature of the role you will need to be able to build positive relationships with colleagues and external contractors alike, and enjoy motivating a team.

What's on Offer

In return you will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including 33 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays), a 15% employer contribution pension scheme (with the option for flexibility - to increase contributions or draw down as salary), lunch provided, with training and development, as well as a range of recreational facilities.

This is your opportunity to use your knowledge in a unique, historic environment and deliver the exceptional. Please apply now or contact Olivia Finn on 01189559034 for more details.
