About Our Client

My client is a market leading Food Manufacturing business are looking for an Engineering Manager to join lead their Engineering function at their site in Nottinghamshire. This role will contribute to the achievement of the overall site business plan by providing the appropriate managerial and technical expertise to ensure that the department they are responsible for exceeds all KPI targets by driving performance with the implementation of a lean environment

Job Description

Roles and responsibilities will include but not be restricted to:

  • Lead a responsible team of engineering professionals by managing the development and implementation of their maintenance strategy.
  • Improve key engineering KPI's, downtime, productivity, expenditure, OEE
  • Support Company systems including; BRC, HACCP and CCP adherence throughout the site.
  • To immediately report any incidences of poor manufacturing practice, H&S, quality incidents or food safety concerns to any member of the Senior Management team.
  • To ensure appropriate communication and hand-over between shifts.
  • To manage all HR issues for the department, with the assistance of the Factory Manager and HR Advisor.
  • Ensure that the maintenance shift team is fully manned, In the case of holidays and absence the rota may require altering to provide best coverage.
  • Develop & review PPM schedules for individual streams and services
  • Ensure Engineering Managers and Technicians have training and resource to operate planned maintenance system
  • Ensure feedback from PM inspections is input into system and that a system for follow up work is available
  • Develop and publish accurate, timely & regular departmental reports, showing: PM compliance, downtime/reliability trends, Individual frontline usage & budgetry performance.
  • Identify any recurring faults or possible future failures, by analysis of data.
  • Carry out post-PM asset audits to ensure work quality is maintained & individual performance management evidence.
  • Ensure that all service contracts are suitable and sufficient to best fit the business needs.
  • To provide, record and identify training requirements of the shift team
