Job Description

Whilst reporting in to the Deputy Operations Manager, the successful Environmental Manager will have ownership in ensuring all environmental aspects of a large shopping centre are maintained and delivered to the contract and client requirements. This large single site includes; the shopping centre, car parks, woodlands, lakes and wildlife habitats. The responsibilities of the Environmental Manager will include, but will not be limited to;

  • Ensuring all ground maintenance is delivered in line with the contracted KPI's, in addition to any project works on site.
  • Waste and pest control contract management. Monitoring set contractual KPI's and ensuring all service areas exceed that required.
  • To take ownership of financial budgets, creating performance reports for the client.
  • To manage the ecological consultants on site visits.
  • To manage all on-site water quality.
  • To oversee and implement the on-site pollution incident response plan.
  • To take ownership of all Environmental elements, from investigation, assessment, response to reporting and client liaison.
  • To deliver training on environmental awareness and protection to all relevant staff.
  • To professionally liaise with engineering teams and client stakeholders to implement energy saving initiatives.
  • To effectively liaise with the relevant Land Security bodies and to implement, manage and drive all initiatives to reduce the overall environmental impact.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Environmental Manager will have demonstrable experience working for a service provider in a similar environmental role. It is essential the successful candidate has experience in;

  • Waste management
  • Energy management
  • Financial management
  • Contractor management

It is desirable for the candidate to have the following;

  • Retail centre experience
  • Professional membership of IEMA
  • NEBOSH qualified
