Reporting to the United Kingdom & Northern Europe Sales Manager, the post-holder will provide field technical sales support to our UK distributor network and deal directly with end user customers in academic, health care, pharmaceutical and industry sectors.

Job Description

Equipment Sales Specialist Primary Responsibilities

  • To ensure that sales targets are achieved and to seek to exceed and expand the Company's sales activities and results.
  • To ensure that Company pricing, discount and gross margin policies are adhered to.
  • To promote products to end-users and distributor's sales personnel.
  • To report periodically on business trends through activity reports.
  • To offer technical support to distributors and users.
  • To maintain a complete profile of customers on a constant up-dated basis.
  • To ensure adequate training of sales/marketing personnel where necessary.
  • To make recommendations on product/market development.
  • To participate in exhibitions and other sales/marketing promotions as required.
  • To develop sales through distributor channels and where appropriate to end-
  • To effectively launch new products.
  • To look for incremental business opportunities.
  • To effectively handle customer concerns, queries and complaints.
  • To inform customers of changes to Company's products/services.
  • To be responsible for pro-active evaluation and control of risk and for identifying developing risk.
  • To fulfil all responsibilities as defined in the Company's ISO 9001:2000 Quality Manual for Stone relating to the position of Equipment Sales Specialist.
  • To carry out such other duties as may be required to achieve the overall purpose of the job.

The Successful Applicant

Equipment Sales Specialist - Person Specification

Sales Experience

The successful candidate will have significant sales experience and a scientific academic background in an appropriate science discipline for the role and product ranges, scientific industry sales experience or sales channel partner management would be advantageous. Candidates must be prepared to travel across territory area daily and be based within it. Some occasional office attendance at our Stone site will also be required when needed.

The post would suit an existing scientific sales representative looking to move upwards to a specialist equipment manufacturer role.

Job Specific Skills

Experience of selling and/or a scientific academic background is required in an appropriate science discipline for the role/product ranges. Scientific industry sales experience would be advantageous. Experience in direct sales or third party sales channel management would be advantageous.
