About Our Client

Estimator - Social Housing

Our client is an in house maintenance contractor of a leading social housing provider in Merseyside.

They are responsible for the planned and responsive works carried out on over 14000 properties in Merseyside

They are now looking to grow within the New Build works and need an experienced Estimator to help grow this work stream

Job Description

Estimator - Social Housing

Key responsibilities for the Senior Estimator role are:

  • Monitor potential enquiries
  • Build relationships with Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Competitors
  • Maintain up-to-date market knowledge of labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors
  • Prepare & send out sub-contract & material enquiries using conquest enquiry system
  • Where required produce accurate take-off using Conquest (if outsourced externally - coordinate the information and ensure take off is complete
  • Manage, as directed, enquiries for labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors
  • Price bills/schedules analytically and produce quote comparisons using conquest estimating software
  • Complete tender pricing for adjudication by the tender committee, including reporting on any risks or onerous conditions, providing a winning edge
  • Liaise with planner to assess programmes & preliminaries
  • Formulate bid strategy/qualifications
  • Assist in the training of junior staff
  • Present estimate to Tender Committee
  • Work within Building and Construction

The Successful Applicant

The key skills, knowledge & experience you will need to have to be considered for the Estimator role include:

  • Experience of working on Social Housing / construction projects
  • Excellent Excel Skills
  • Working experience of presenting technical and complex information
  • Ability to use own initiative as well as working effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload
  • First rate communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively delegates as appropriate
  • Ability to work in the Merseyside area
  • Experience in Building and Construction

What's on Offer

The successful candidate reporting to the Head Office in Merseyside and will be offered between £45000 and 50000 plus benefits depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware, highly motivated individual who can work under pressure and have proven experience estimating Planned Works Refurbishment and New Build schemes within Social Housing.
