This is an opportunity to join a small, high profile team, within a large finance division. In this role you will have an impact on the wider business, pro-actively manage a number of key relationships and improve all aspects of the internal and external reporting processes.

Job Description



A key element of the role will be to proactively manage and strive to improve all aspects of the internal and external reporting processes whilst adhering to and evolving the compliance framework. One of the many challenges of the role will be to manage relationships successfully.





Further requirements of the European Finance Manager role include:

  • Ensuring the European group is preparing financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards and group requirements.
  • Management of month/quarter/year end financial reporting processes and assisting with the quarterly audit process to ensure timely sign-offs can be achieved.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and fluctuation analysis
  • Support local teams with statutory accounting preparation and issues as they arise
  • To identify process and reporting improvement opportunities at consolidation and local level Identify control deficiencies within the organization
  • Investigation of and reporting on any identified control weaknesses or control failures
  • Recommend and help implement control improvements necessary to the financial reporting process
  • Support management in building controls awareness and skills among local finance teams with a view to strengthening internal controls
  • The development of corporate accounting procedures and best practices
  • Ad hoc project work supporting the European finance team where necessary



The Successful Applicant

We are looking for:

Qualified accountant gained within practice who is looking for a first or second move in industry

  • Experience of group consolidations
  • Experience of group reporting within a global framework and delivering to deadlines
  • Experience of identifying unusual trends or anomalies in financial reported
  • Strong audit background and past experience of assessing internal controls
  • Experience of identifying process improvements
  • Experience of identifying control deficiencies and recommending appropriate corrective action
  • A diligent individual who is sceptical and questioning of data presented and who is willing to challenge responses when not understood
  • An individual who also has the ability to self-review and question their own work to ensure accurate information is provided.
  • A team player who is willing be flexible, where required, to ensure deadlines are met
  • Proactive at dealing with issues on an ongoing basis, and takes full responsibility for ensuring work is completed and issues resolved
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop international relationships and provide a first-class service to all stakeholders
  • Willing to travel internationally, approximately 25% of the year
  • Must possess strong IT skills, particularly Excel
