A 180 year old privately owned business with a growing global footprint, we seek a determined, motivated, successful sales professional - with experience of our core industries and equipment lines - to be responsible for developing our business into the European Market place.

Job Description

As the European Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for:-

  • The development of sales strategies to determine the best route to market in specific regions/ industry sectors within our territory. (This may be through direct sales, agent/ distributors or OEM partnerships).
  • The creation and management of sales budgets.
  • Building relationships to ensure a loyal customer base leading to increased revenue and profitability.
  • Building and Developing a successful team behind you.
  • Driving the UK and European business for McLanahan forward
  • Attend trade shows and events not only in the UK but also Europe
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders and technical staff to develop and deliver the best possible solutions to clients across Europe
  • Travelling across Europe circa 30% of the time

The Successful Applicant

The Successful European Sales Engineer will have:-

  • Substantial experience of selling large, complex mechanically engineered solutions globally to our core industries.
  • Significant experience in of one or more of our product streams.
  • An aptitude for and experience of Technical Sales.
  • A track record of exceeding sales targets and winning new customers globally.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • The attitude and manner required to build long term client relationships.
  • The ability to operate at all levels within our own and our clients businesses.
  • A desire and the willingness to travel extensively within our European Territory.
  • Contract negotiation and management experience.
  • One or more European Languages would be preferable.
  • Evaluation of tenders, bid preparation and management
  • Ideally you will be based in the South East of England, but any location across Europe or England is also good as you will be based from home.
