About Our Client

The school ensures that each of their 1500 students strive to achieve the highest outcomes in academic qualifications, social responsibility, sporting excellence and artistic achievement. They are currently undergoing a conversion process to move over to an Academy and you will be an integral part of ensuring all compliance and policies are in place in regards to the Property and Estate.

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with Directors to deliver purchase agreements and supplier arrangements as appropriate ensuring value for money for example in utilities, school catering and letting
  • Ensuring that the School meets all legal and compliance obligations; in regard to the central function of the role
  • Leading with site and property legal issues, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation;
  • Developing and maintaining their Health and Safety Policy and oversee processes in schools to ensure legal compliance and best practice.
  • Managing the Operations Manager and Catering Function
  • Administering all site projects and provide reports where necessary
  • Acting as the principal source of advice to the Board on estates and property issues; maintenance and improvements to each member school's premises
  • Regularly reviewing and monitoring systems and processes of work to support a culture of continuous improvement and best practice· Collate in a timely manner information required for the Annual Report
  • Contributing to and supporting the delivery of the School's business plan

The Successful Applicant

This would be an amazing opportunity for you if you are a motivated and pro-active Building or Facilities Manager with strong technical knowledge and proven experience in budget management and dealing with suppliers and contractors. You will be liaising with Chairs of Governors and Directors, officers from local authorities, and all contractors and consultants that come on to the site as well all staff members, students and internal central function teams on a daily basis, so you will need to be able to communicate well all levels.
