Finance Analyst - London - Financial Services

Esteemed Investment Management business based in central London.

Job Description

The role holder will also be a member of the Reporting Team and will be responsible for contributing towards delivery of the Finance vision and strategy to become a Centre of Excellence and making it the place where everyone wants to be. Specifically, the Financial Analyst will support the following tasks:

  • Produce and review the Group's financial reports (annual financial reports, interim financial reports and other financial communication presentations). Prepare the relevant financial parts of annual reports and other external filings, and review other content (such as business review, market trends, etc.) and propose amendments in line with best practice developments.
  • Production of regulatory returns including FCA and tax returns
  • Liaison with external bodies (including FCA, external auditors and HMRC)
  • Assist in reaching a consensus between the company and the auditor about the contents of financial reports presentation and disclosure
  • Supporting the business in delivery of its strategic objectives
  • Continuous improvement in working practices and service delivery

Collaboration with other areas of the Finance function to enhance the delivery of information

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience of working in a Finance Reporting role within a regulated environment
  • Ability to stay knowledgeable, research and reach well-reasoned conclusions on technical accounting and business issues
  • Relevant market knowledge and best practice disciplines
  • Proactive approach with the ability to challenge the status quo and to contribute towards delivery of the business strategic plan
  • Strategic thinking and experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels
  • Ability to balance time between control, efficiency and value-add activities
  • Effective communicator both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Microsoft office (strong Excel), CODA, Cognos TM1 and IBM CDM (Corporate Disclosure Management)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines and respond quickly to management requests
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements

Recognised professionally qualified accountant with at least 2 years post qualified experience within a regulated environment
