Job Description

The Financial Controller will hold responsibility for a small finance team. The finance Controller team responsibilities are as below:

  • Management reporting across Multiple divisions and systems
  • The Finance Controller team provides support and input for Statutory accounts preparation: Month, quarterly and year end reporting
    • Support preparation of annual Audit for US GAAP and local statutory purposes
    • Accounting integration of the business in the UK and Ireland across 2 systems
    • Support integrated financial reports or statements production by combining both sources of data
  • The Finance Controller team leads budget control activities for marketing support, Overhead management and enable budget owners to control spending via deep penetration and proofing of actual spending
  • Vendor Payment compliance (coordinating with the AP Back office)

The candidate will be responsible for delivery of results by the Finance Controller group for the Transitioning Business

On top of this the Finance Controller will have ownership of

  • Working with senior finance management to ensure compliance with approved Accounting Standards, Group Policies and Legal requirements especially during a period of major change
  • Corporate Governance including appropriate board meetings and minutes, information to key stakeholders, etc.
  • Provide Governance on company pension plans as appropriate

The Successful Applicant

Essential Experience:

  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance or Fully qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
  • Organising and motivating a competent Finance team- recruitment and training, ensuring objectives are met addressing any underperformance, completion of appraisal and development plans
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Financial Controller (or similar)
  • Strong systems skills - Excel, MIS, ERP etc..
  • Extensive experience in budgeting, financial planning and forecasting
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with management at all levels
  • Ability to Manage Change


  • Experience with ERP Systems, such as SAP
  • Independent management of Local Books for UK/Ireland
  • FMCG or Retail experience
