Job Description

Review monthly overhead accounts; authorise journals; manage costs; review monthly balance sheet position for overheads (across two systems)

2. Forecast overhead accounts - four years in advance, P&Ls, working capital and capex; interaction with key account owners/stakeholders; review forecast of other overhead accounts for reasonableness.

3. Attend monthly business reviews for contracts in Commercial BU and monthly debt and WIP reviews (including note taking)

4. Review and manage monthly Flash numbers for the Commercial BU.

5. Attend monthly balance sheet reviews for entire BU and follow up and resolve any issues raised

6. Draft finance section for the monthly business review pack (trading, projections, bridges to forecast/budget, working capital and capex management) including commentary and analysis on variances

7. Review information returned for re-forecasts and budgets - P&Ls, commentary packs, work to win, retentions, working capital and capex

8. Draft finance section for the March, May and September re-forecast and budget reviews (bridges to budget, prior re-forecasts, work to win analysis, contract gains and losses, retention analysis, risks and opportunity analysis)

9. Coordinate year-end audit and deal with appointed auditors for Commercial BU contract audits

10. Review monthly bad debt provision, WIP provision and FV provision for consistency; raise any queries with relevant FMs

11. Circulate expenses data to the wider business

12. Line manage Management Accountant

13. Deal with ad hoc queries on a day-to-day basis

14. Successfully interact with a number of stakeholders including Finance team, Commercial, FOC, Senior Management, central Finance Team (e.g. Capex, forecasts, day-to-day)

15. Review BU work-flow report, communication with wider BU and work with FOC and Finance team to resolve issues

16. Completion and review of EL/PL/insurance returns alongside Commercial director

17. Authorise orders and sign off invoices in work flow

The Successful Applicant

* Proven track record of working within a Financial management environment
* Experience of multi-site business units
* Computer literate. Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word and Office
* GCSE/CSE/O Level Standard in English and Mathematics.
* Finalist/qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / ACMA)
* A high degree of financial, commercial and customer awareness
* Excellent numerical and communication skills
* Ability to thrive in a highly pressurised and dynamic environment
* Ability to think ahead, identify new opportunities and create new and innovative approaches to work related issues
