Job Description

The Principal Accountabilities will include:

1. Develop the finance system to support the operations of the business, maximise financial control and efficiency by ensuring systems and processes deliver co-ordinated financial management information to the business as a whole. These systems and processes must generate information that is accurate, timely and user friendly.

2. Plan and maintain an effective financial service for the Group and ensure that all Group arrangements are appropriately planned, managed and controlled.

3.Plan and co-ordinate the annual budget setting process enabling budget holders engagement in the process to deliver a robust Group budget.

4.Lead the delivery of financial reporting and forecasting out-turns, ensuring that format and delivery of the reporting meets customer requirements and enables budget holders understanding of their budgets.

5.Ensure that the Group's financial systems are robust, appropriately controlled and monitored and its assets are protected whilst maintaining the integrity of the financial reporting systems and processes.

6.Deliver the audited financial statements and liaise with external auditors ensuring accurate and efficient production of the financial statements in compliance with Accounting Standards.

7.Support the development and co-ordination of the requirements of month end, taking a lead in conjunction with Finance Manager for Customer Services and Support Services Budget holders. Ensure that all rents and service charges balance sheet transactions (e.g. accruals) are reconciled monthly and that all transactions are appropriately represented in the ledgers.

8.To demonstrate responsibility and leadership for promoting and championing all aspects of equal opportunities by valuing diversity in all areas of work.

9.To take responsibility for ensuring and achieving the objectives of the Group's Health and Safety Policy.

10.To undertake any other duties in order to meet personal, team and organisational objectives following consultation with your manager.

11.To be responsible for effectively managing strategic and operational risks within your area of responsibility. The Group has developed a robust and active approach to risk management, where all managers are accountable for successful implementation, including mainstreaming effective mitigation and control measures, briefing team members on service area risks and maintaining risk registers in accordance with agreed reporting frameworks.

The Successful Applicant

Must be qualified with experience of managing and developing a team.

Experience in housing or wider non for profit sector.
