The Finance Manager is responsible for the management of the Finance team, managing the production of the financial accounts for the business and supporting the production of the monthly board pack and associated schedules. This role is also responsible for the, financial transaction processing within the business, heading up the day to day financial activities. This role will work closely with the Finance Director as part of the monthly reporting cycle to ensure that relevant Management and Board reporting deadlines are met.

Job Description

  • The production of monthly financial accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements for all legal entities
  • Consolidation of the Group Accounts
  • Support the production of the monthly board pack.
  • Management of the finance team, including review of work load, process and systems as well as performance appraisal.
  • Implement and maintain all financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiency's and improvements to working practices and procedures
  • Supervise the month-end timetable and cut-off procedures to ensure accurate and timely input into the month-end accounts process.
  • Manage and review the payroll Function
  • Manage the administration of company and stakeholder pension schemes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all relevant company returns and payments to statutory authorities such as: PAYE returns, VAT returns, returns, etc.
  • Management of company bank accounts and foreign exchange contracts.
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure preparation of audit files and relevant schedules for the annual audit.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, including development of forecasting models.
  • Support the Finance Director and Company Directors as required
  • Ad-hoc analysis projects as they arise.

The Successful Applicant

  • Suitably qualified accountant.
  • Strong character with proven ability and experience in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Previous experience of using SAGE or other Financial systems
  • Management experience
  • Strong commercial acumen, able to explain finance to operational managers.
  • Ability to manage workload and deadlines efficiently.
  • High integrity, with keen sense of values.
  • Self-motivated and driven professional who thrives on new challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
