About Our Client

Our client is a niche distributor within the pharmaceutical industry.

Job Description

  • Manage the accounting process to ensure correct accounting records to facilitate accurate and timely reporting, closing and preparation of regular financial statements and quarterly management reporting.
  • Participate in the review and improvement of accounting procedures and full utilization of software including extension of existing functionality with an aim to improve efficiency and accuracy of the accounting process.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate procedures and their update as required in line with corporate growth.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and maintain effective controls in areas of responsibility, as well as support internal and external audits related to controls activities.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns in the various jurisdictions, Intratsat and other statutory returns.
  • Monitor and control Inter-company transactions and ensure re-measurement and revaluation of foreign denominated transactions.
  • Assist with the production of year end statutory accounts and liaison with external auditors to ensure timely submission in line with legal requirements.
  • Working closely with finance and sales teams in head office.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders to obtain relevant business information including extensive business partnering with Customer Care Department both in the UK and Internationally.
  • On-going development of systems and processes to meet the needs of the business in EMEA in the various jurisdictions.
  • Other ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required and assistance to the Senior Finance Manager EMEA.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) ideally Big 4 trained.
  • 4-6 years of experience of working within a subsidiary of a quoted company.
  • US GAAP knowledge preferred
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong customer services orientation.
  • Self motivated with ability to work on own initiative and to deadlines.
