This client is a pivotal part of the community within Bedfordshire and is looking for someone to join and help with regeneration of the wider community.

Job Description

  • Work closely with the Regeneration and Business Directorate's European Funding team and support the provision of a quality financial management service - including the preparation of European Fund budget strategy, annual budgets, budget monitoring, forecasting, reporting and closure of accounts.
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager in the provision of European Funding financial management information and advice to the European Funding team - including the ERDF budget monitoring, monthly forecasts for ERDF contracts, collation and management of financial elements submitted to ERDF claims to the Managing Agent (DCLG) ensuring claim compliancy with DCLG audit requirements.
  • Manage the financial elements and participate in the council's ERDF project, advising on the financial implications of the project and assisting in the monitoring and risk management of delivery.
  • Support the European Funding Team in the review and advice on financial implications of the European Funded projects, providing financial analysis and narrative for the Management Team and Board.

    1. Establish, implement and deliver financial systems to support European grant claims and controls to ensure accountability in line with the delivery of European funded programmes, specifically ERDF.
    2. Manage all financial systems relating to the programme including, raising purchase orders, processing invoices for grants and activity payments funded under the ERDF project.
  • Prepare Annual Budgets for the ERDF delivery plan and process all accounts information as necessary for Management Accounts.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified accountant
  • Experience of providing financial advice and support
  • Sound understanding of value for money and best value and delivering efficiencies
  • Experience in the application of best practice that provides effective, high quality services which are responsive to organisational abnd customer need
  • Evidence of effective performance management outcomes
  • Experience of business/service planning and its link to financial and performance planning/monitoring
  • Have the ability to accurately analyse, interpret and communicate complex data and financial information
  • Experience of SAP
  • ICT (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)to advanced level
