Job Description

The Finance Manager role includes the following:

  • Managing and developing staff and ensuring relevant duties are carried out
  • Ensuring accurate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
  • Purchase ledger, sales ledger
  • Advising the Bursar to the Governors on VAT and preparing their quarterly VAT returns
  • Be responsible for the Monthly Management accounts
  • Strive to improve accounting standards and controls throughout the school

The Successful Applicant

My Client is looking for a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) , ideally with:

  • Experience in line management
  • Proven experience in the commercial sector with knowledge of; Payroll, purchase ledger, billing accounts systems and preparing accounts
  • Good verbal communication skills with a good understanding of clients needs
  • A good ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of management accounting, reporting and systems analysis

  • Compile the schedules requested by the auditors. Raise and process journal adjustments where necessary

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations: for example, Bank, Debtors, Creditors, Income Tax (PAYE).

  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register and ensure it reconciles

  • Monitor cash flows identifying any funding needs
