Our client is a growing financial services company growing through a large programme of change.

Job Description

An new and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to join Group Finance to lead the Finance projects team. This new role offers significant breadth including a leadership role in a major change initiatives within Finance, driving effective delivery of change where that change impacts on the Finance function, and effectively planning and managing in-function change. The role will suit an applicant who is proactive, ambitious and keen to develop their skills and experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Group's Technology Evaluation and Transformation programmes, taking the lead on behalf of Group Finance and co-ordinating necessary Finance resource in support of the programme
  • Act as business manager in co-ordinating the Finance, Risk and Data programme within the Group's Transformation programme, co-ordinating effectively with Business Change and IT teams to deliver to a high quality within cost and time constraints
  • Take the lead in ensuring the Finance IT systems estate is appropriately supported and maintained, and that systems upgrade and replacement requirements are well understood and planned for in a timely fashion
  • Co-ordinate the department's approach to changes to accounting standards and legal and regulatory requirements, working closely with the subject matter experts to understand the scope of change required and to plan an effective, efficient and timely response
  • Understand and advise on proposed small changes in support of continuous improvements in Finance processes

The Successful Applicant

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or holds an equivalent level of professional experience

Experience of implementing change within a finance department, including both systems and process changes.

Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with an ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way. Demonstrated ability to navigate committee and governance structures to deliver change.
