Job Description

Finance Systems Strategy

  • Own and deploy the finance systems strategy
  • Lead the ongoing strategy that meets the needs of the Group for statutory and management reporting
  • Work closely with the IT department in the delivery of the strategy
  • Ensure that local finance system developments are aligned to the strategy
  • Develop and manage the governance structure for the finance systems
  • Work closely with any acquired businesses to integrate their reporting into the Group reporting in a cost effective and efficient way
  • Manage the Group Data Model and control the Master Chart of Accounts

Group Consolidation

  • Be the Finance lead in the consolidation system implementation
  • Work with the Group reporting team to deliver the consolidation requirements
  • Translate between financial requirements and integration processes to deliver an effective solution
  • Ensure system implementation, testing and go-live are completed, approved and managed in an effective way
  • Work closely with any acquired businesses to integrate their reporting into the Group reporting in a cost effective and efficient way

Financial Systems Governance

  • Provide an effective and responsive Governance structure for
  • Strategic system developments
  • Ongoing maintenance and support of finance systems
  • Standardise processes and reporting where appropriate and effective
    • Identify, promote and share best practice across the group
    • Manage the group's system accountants to support all areas of finance
    • Support Group Finance and IT in acquisitions and future implementations
    • Support divisional finance teams in the development and implementation of local finance systems

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified accountant, with a recognised accountancy qualification
  • Previous experience will include training and qualification with a recognised employer. A period in industry with a multi-site / international business in a head office environment, would be an advantage
  • Experience of finance systems, consolidation and management reporting
  • Involvement in system or similar projects (implement, modify, change projects)
  • Excellent IT and technical skills with experience of mainstream finance systems
  • Good oral and written communication skills a prerequisite.
  • Articulate, persuasive, confident; able to influence at senior levels in the organisation

£50,000 - £65,000 dependant on experience + Bonus + Pension
