Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • To lead on the contract management, partnership and relationship management for various operational and technical service contracts ensuring a first class service to our clients.

  • To fully support the transformation of financial services with a focus on the use of financial systems to automation processes to improve financial performance and financial reporting and to deliver the required benefits to our clients and internally within the division.

  • To manage an effective and responsive financial management support service inline with the output specification agreed with the clients including: delivery of operational and transactional financial services including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cashbook Management. Ensure that all services are provided to the highest level of standard and there is a proactive pathway of service improvement.

  • Responsibility for the delivery of all KPI and PIs in line with the clients contract, ensuring the full understanding of the clients needs and expectations and ensure there are met within contractual commitments.

  • Support the delivery of the wider objectives of the Local Government Finance and Accountancy division including: supporting the application for new business; implementation and development of new services and delivery models; management of other client contracts.

  • Deputise for Senior Management as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Experience of financial management, including managing complex organisation structures, systems and processes in order to enhance value for money and achieve service and corporate objectives
  • Demonstrable track record of development and maintaining relationships with Senior Management and Directors through matrix working
  • Evidence of success in leading, managing and motivating staff to achieve agreed outcomes
  • Experience of managing contractual commercial relationships across multiple clients
  • Knowledge and understanding of the broader range of services provided by Local Government
  • Knowledge of financial systems and project management methodology
