About Our Client

The Client is a large and reputable Housing Association based in London.

Job Description

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for leading the organisation through it's Year End process, the key responsibilities will be:

  • To prepare the group financial statements.
  • To ensure that the financial accounts in all ledgers of the group are reconciled.
  • To ensure that cash flow is correctly recorded across the group.
  • To liaise with the capital team and ensure that the fixed asset register is up to date and in line with FRS 102 standards.
  • To be the lead business partner in liaison with the external auditors.


  • To ensure the preparation of key monthly financial accounting journals and reconciliations are prepared in a timely manner.


  • To engage in the management of key reconciliation processes, including the rent ledger and sales ledger for the Housing and Community legal entities.


  • To ensure accurate and timely cash and housing benefit postings for the Housing and Community legal entities

The Successful Applicant

Essential:

  • Detailed knowledge and practical experience of accounting under UK GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • High level knowledge of spreadsheets (excel) and accounting software (Sun Accounts).
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial concepts/statistics to non-finance staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across with other teams. Knowledge of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) for Housing Associations.



Desirable:

  • FRS 102 implementation in Housing Sector
  • Sound knowledge of VAT and corporation tax principles.

What's on Offer

The client is offering a temporary cotract due to last 6 months and paying between £225 an £275 per day.
