Financial Services based in Sussex
Day-to-day responsibilities: Prepare the monthly accounts for the insurance entities.
Ensure reconciliations are prepared for all technical balances within the insurance entities.
Liaise with the Broker Accountant and assist where appropriate to ensure that data is produced and reconciled to a high level of integrity back to the underwriting system.
Work with Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to develop enhanced and insightful analysis of financial results.
Continue to review the insurer models within the accounts production process and look to develop and enhance further.
Liaise with the company auditors at year-end and on an ongoing basis as and when required.
Responsible for overseeing the delivery of the data for all legal and regulatory returns relevant to the insurer and reinsurer, to include but not limited to FSC, IPT and MIB.
Participate and lead where appropriate the delivery of projects and objectives for Corporate Finance.
Completion of all technical payment schedules and monthly settlements for the insurer.
Ensure correct levels of controls are implemented and maintained throughout the department Maintain accurate and up to date.
Process Notes across the team Undertake project work as required .
The Successful Applicant
Experience Insurance accounting, including technical analysis, financial and statutory reporting is essential.
Proven ability to manage and build relationships with different teams around the business.
Skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good time management and organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Problem solving skills, with the ability to identify problems and adopt a logical approach to resolving problems.
Excellent numeracy skills Computer literate Knowledge Excellent knowledge of how to prepare accounts in line with regulations and policies.
Sound understanding of the structure of the group and its operations and objectives Knowledge of FCA requirements (including Treating Customers Fairly).
Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
An organised and proactive approach.
Taking responsibility for tasks and seeing them through to completion.
Takes initiative to make decisions.
