Job Description

Financial Accountant required for a newly created permanent position based in Leeds City Centre for a charity.

Working within a friendly and established team you will be hands on within the role with a range of responsibilities including leading on the production of the annual financial statements and managing audits, to managing the purchase and sales ledgers, and from time to time helping out with the transactional details when required.

A critical element of the role is ensuring the that there are efficient and effective processes, policies and controls in place in relation to the financial ledgers, that ensures the protection of the charity's funds, and allows the management accounts function to produce meaningful financial reports to the business units.

You will also need a good understanding of VAT as some of the VAT issues for this charity can be quite complex in nature.

The Successful Applicant

Candidates will possess an accountancy qualification i.e. ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent and have ideally gained some of their experience as a Financial Accountant within the charity or not for profit sector. A hands on and proactive approach will be needed as there is a real opportunity to add value in this newly created role.
