Job Description

  1. Provide a full financial service for subsidiary and joint venture companies ensuring timely and accurate information to enable appropriate management decisions to be taken.
  2. Train managers and finance staff how to account for subsidiary and joint venture companies using financial systems. Ensure they are aware of their obligations in respect of monitoring budgets, providing forecasts and complying with financial regulations.
  3. Prepare the statutory financial statements and non financial performance information for all subsidiaries and to produce compliance information to external stakeholders
  4. Provide effective and appropriate financial management and control of subsidiaries and joint ventures.
  5. To prepare the VAT return for group and subsidiary companies
  6. To be responsible for completing monthly financial routines and controls in accordance with the agreed timetable.
  7. To work collaboratively with the Reporting Team to complete tasks as directed by the Financial Controller and other members of the Reporting Team.
  8. Assist the Financial Controller and other managers with specific projects.

Measures of success:

  1. Managers receive the agreed information in accordance with the timetable and there are no material errors.
  2. Managers and finance staff are able to use the financial systems to review financial information. Errors are eliminated through on-going targeted training.
  3. Statutory and non statutory information is prepared without error in accordance with the timetable.
  4. Effective controls are in place that ensure there are no material errors and all statutory and other reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  5. The VAT return is submitted on time to HMRC and contains no material errors.
  6. Month end routines and controls are completed in accordance with the timetable.
  7. Tasks are completed accurately and to time.
  8. Effective matrix working with other colleagues in connection with subsidiaries, joint ventures and other similar parties.

  1. Experience in financial and management accounting & reporting, including external statutory reporting and audit (E).
  2. Technical competence in current accounting standards and practices (E).
  3. Experience of working with and explaining financial concepts to non financial people at all levels within an organisation (E).


  1. Ability to understand, interpret, assess and manage finance related risks to support business requirements (E).
  2. Personal integrity and a strong focus on personal accountability to deliver effective outcomes (E).
  3. A strong customer focus - demonstrating a thorough understanding of customer needs (E).

Qualifications (if any)

  1. Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent (E)
  2. Evidence of continuous professional development (E).
