About Our Client

The Museum is dedicated to educating the public on Human History, Art and Culture from previous centuries. They are one of the most established Museums in the world and to this day continue to add to their expanding artefacts collections. The Museum works with partners across the world to share-skills, knowledge and to collaborate on research and fieldwork. Their main funding streams are obtained from their exhibitions and private and public donors but they are always generating new ideas for creating profit. They are now looking to recruit a Financial Accountant

Job Description

Role Description:

  • Perform the balance sheet account reconciliations, including VAT, payroll and other regulatory returns.
  • Supervise the sales ledger and purchase ledger clerical staff.
  • Prepare the monthly board pack including commentary for presentation to the Finance Director
  • Prepare quarterly accounts for the shareholder together with commentary.
  • Prepare and finalise annual statutory accounts and control and manage the annual statutory audit.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in preparation of the annual budget
  • Together with the Management Accountant, prepare and update the financial forecast
  • Produce, analyse and explain detailed variances
  • Prepare and update revenue calculations for clients and meet to settle claims in a timely fashion.
  • Update and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare, update and monitor KPI's, tonnage reports and relevant analysis for inclusion in board packs

  • Strong academic ability
  • Strong excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to form good working relationships with a wide spectrum of colleagues
  • Successful experience of setting and meeting challenging deadlines under pressure.
