The organisation:

The Theatre is a prestigious arts & education body which have established themselves as UK leaders within the performance arts sector. Each year they host theatre shows which become productions in the Broadway and West End theatre district. As an organisation they are committed to supporting the work of upcoming new artists as well as educating young people on the arts. In the next year they plan to expand their retail arms and implement a £20 million pound infrastructure project.

Job Description

The opportunity:

  1. To have responsibility for the preparation of a high-quality month-end file. This will support the integrity of the general ledger and trial balance. Responsibility includes the preparation of monthly/quarterly account reconciliations, training staff in the preparation of account reconciliations, ensuring a complete set of reconciliations has been produced and resolving any issues that are identified as part of the reconciliation review process.
  2. In conjunction with the Financial Controller you will seek to enhance the monthly close process by implementing and overseeing new procedures that enhance the general control environment and accuracy of financial information.
  3. To ensure the accuracy and timeliness of work flow through communication and management of weekly, monthly, and annual work schedules.
  4. To act as systems administrator for SUN, Q&A and Proactis
  5. Prepare returns and reconciliations for FEU on a quarterly basis, including liaising with HMRC where necessary

The Successful Applicant

Experience & skills required:

Newly/Fully ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified accountant with a broad accounting experience, covering VAT returns, SORP and period end reporting. You will have strong technical skills, financial reporting skills are essential, SUN systems experience is desirable. You should have also previously worked for a Not-for-profit sector organisation.The ability to communicate effectively and work in a pacey environment.
