Job Description

Key Responsibilties:

  • Support the Group Head of Finance in the setting and delivery of the vision for the Finance service to ensure that it aligns with the overall strategic direction of the Group.
  • Responsibility for leading, developing and delivery of efficient and effective high quality customer focused Finance services in the areas of responsibility to ensure the delivery of the Group's aims and objectives within available resources.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful internal and external relationships which contribute to an effective customer focused service
  • Lead the delivery of the annual budget setting and business planning process. Consult with company leads and senior managers and develop the process to efficiently meet the needs of the customers of the Finance service.
  • Responsible for the production of accurate, timely management accounts and financial reporting within agreed timescales.
  • To produce reports for Board and Committee meetings and other forums, ensuring reporting deadlines are met and undertake any necessary follow up actions.
  • Responsible for the production of the business plan financial model and associated sensitivity modelling and stress testing for review by the Group Head of Finance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the rent account system is maintained and rent reviews are carried out in line with statutory requirements.
  • To lead the delivery of the final statutory accounts process for all Group companies by developing an achievable year end timetable in partnership with the external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory return requirements
  • To lead the implementation of any accounting, reporting and system changes required as a result of changes to financial reporting standards or SORPs.
  • To ensure that appropriate systems and controls are in place
  • for the correct calculation and payment of relevant taxes and pension contributions (i.e. Corporation Tax, VAT, Payroll Taxes) ensuring payments are made in time
  • Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place and that all control account reconciliations are carried out in a timely manner with discrepancies being investigated and resolved.
