Your role is to help the bank make, spend and invest money wisely.

Job Description

Our client recently consolidated their Commercial and Private Banking functions, and in this role you'll work to help align and streamline the two functions to operate effectively as one. You'll also support the movement of of our subsidiary's business's regulatory reporting to the wider Group platform.

As Financial Control Accountant, you'll be exposed to a variety of work including delivering Management Information (MI), driving projects and undertaking month end reporting tasks. As such, you'll support the delivery of end to end financial control activity for the business area. Acting as an intermediary between business units India Financial Control including offshore & UK team(s), you'll vigorously review and challenge the overall finance control process.

You'll provide first class support and advice to the onshore Financial Controller to ensure that business area outputs and processes are efficient, while reflecting on customer needs. By providing well-informed insight and input, you'll contribute to shaping the strategy and operating model for financial control which will support the wider objective of maintaining customer and stakeholder confidence.

Drawing on your wealth of knowledge, you'll provide guidance on complex business issues, as well as providing input to ensure effective control and risk management is implemented to review and challenge outputs, while keeping customer interests at the heart of all you do.

The Successful Applicant

Ideally you'll be a qualified accountant or qualified with exposure to a financial environment, as you'll need to interpret and challenge numerical data. You'll demonstrate fantastic stakeholder management skills to build effective working relationships with professionals of varying seniority.

You'll have exceptional communicative abilities, able to clearly articulate issues and influence and challenge senior stakeholders. As you'll be working in a busy environment, you'll have good coordination and organisation skills to effectively manage your workload and adapt to changing priorities, while ensuring you meet strict deadlines. You'll apply good and decisive problem solving to issues.
