About Our Client

My client is a growing privately equity back SME looking for a Financial Controller to join their growing team. Based in Central London this role will be reporting directly into the CEO and will play an important part in aiding the continued growth of the company. This is an all-encompassing financial accountant role whereby this person will oversee the whole accounting function.

Job Description

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the whole accounting function and the duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organisational structure adequate for achieving the organisation's goals and objectives
  • Provide and interpret financial information to the wider business
  • Preparation of pricing strategy, management cost reports, budget financial forecasts and report variances
  • Provide financial analyses and cost comparators, also for capital investments and contract negotiations.
  • Manage outsourced functions
  • Recommend benchmarks to measure company performance
  • Maintain a system of controls over all accounting transactions
  • Financial Reporting - Statutory accounts and reports
  • Supporting month end and year end close
  • Ensuring bank reconciliations are completed on a timely and accurate basis
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Contribute towards the preparation of the corporate annual report.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for this role will be used to having a broad range of accounting responsibilities and will be a strong communicator as will have daily liaison with a range of stakeholders.

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA. ACCA, CIMA or Qualified by Experience)
  • Numerate, accurate individual with strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Professional approach, committee to meeting deadlines
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Analytical and logical thinker
  • Flexible, hands-on and prepared to provide support
  • Able to work on own initiative with a conscientious approach, always looking to improve processes where possible
  • Team player with the confidence to deal and communicate with all levels of management
