About Our Client

Our client is a British leading product design brand who has a commitment to innovation and a mission to revive the British furniture industry. They have experienced large growth during 2015 and will continue in a similar fashion in 2016 in a stimulating and exciting environment. They are based in central west London and are currently looking for an experienced financial controller to join their dedicated and hardworking team.

Job Description

The responsibilities of the Interim Financial Controller will be:

  • Primarily to lead, develop and manage the Finance function of the business from reporting, planning to the management of the Finance team's staff, to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to a quality standard.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting: enforcing and developing financial processes, performing cost reviews, devising and implementing change across the business to drive efficiency.
  • Responsibility for managing a team of 6 in Finance
  • Ad-hoc project work: supporting commercial projects related to the continuing growth and development of the business.
  • Having a rounded commercial overview of the business and understanding the objectives and activities of each department, in order to understand what financial information is required and in what format.
  • Continuously finding ways to cut costs and/or increase return on investment
  • Supporting the annual budgeting and planning process

  • Qualified with proven accounting skills
  • A bright, driven and hardworking individual who is passionate about their work
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience of working in a small business ideally retail
  • Commercial acumen and good general business knowledge
  • A people-person who will have experience of managing a team and an in-depth understanding of financial control and key processes
  • Owned balance sheet, led on month end process and drives deadlines

What's on Offer

  • £250 - £300 a day
  • 3 month contract
