Job Description

The Financial Controller based in the City of London will have the following responsibilities:

  • Identify and deliver ongoing improvements which result in tangible business benefits
  • Identify and deliver ongoing improvements which contribute to the Finance Function's strategic objective of adding value
  • Meets all objectives within the specified timelines
  • Provide regular status and progress updates to Decision Support Team, internal and external stakeholders
  • Run it like your own business
  • Track and identify value adding initiatives which have resulted from the activities of the Business Partner role
  • Flexible to adapt role depending on changing needs and priorities
  • Pro-active approach to process improvement
  • Day-to-day management including setting tasks, prioritisation, timetables and effective review
  • On-going collaboration with Reporting and other Finance Teams

The Successful Applicant

The Financial Controller should have the following exposure:

  • Extensive experience of working in a Finance Reporting role within a regulated environment
  • Ability to stay knowledgeable, research and reach well-reasoned conclusions on technical accounting and business issues
  • Relevant market knowledge and best practice disciplines
  • Proactive approach with the ability to challenge the status quo and to contribute towards delivery of the business strategic plan
  • Strategic thinking and experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels
  • Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines, create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to management requests
  • Effective communicator both written and verbal
  • Ability to balance time between control, efficiency and value-add activities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
